About
I have always loved flowers,
and I've always enjoyed artistic endeavors.
Flowers are beautiful & inspiring!
Grandma Teckla
Grandma Teckla painted flowers on china dresser sets in Chicago, IL before she got married. Then Grandma Teckla lived on a farm in northen Minnesota where she had a beautiful rock garden on one side of her house that was filled with many layers of flowers, paths, and rocks.
Grandma Minnie
My Grandma Minnie had a yard with beautiful flowers, especially peonies. She painted flowers on pottery at the Red Wing Pottery Company in Red Wing, MN.
Mom
My Mom always kept our yard filled with flowers. She loved her garden and belonged to the garden club. She created many artistic flower arrangements, and the neighbors also enjoyed using her flowers for their arrangements!
Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy. psalm 35:4, NLT
How I Got Started
During my career as a teacher and high school counselor, I seldom had time to draw. In 2016, my daughter gave me an Inspire Bible. I immediately began coloring the beautiful line-art illustrations. Just one month later I'd read through the entire Bible and colored every illustration! Now I have all of the Inspire Scripture portion books as well.
Many years ago my friend Val invited us to her home for art classes taught by Meg. We mostly created designs using watercolors. It was so enjoyable!
After I retired I still didn't have time to draw until two years ago. While watching Lola and Tom's youngest children (Kian, Braya, Abner, Avera, and Zayla) we would draw in sketch books at the dining room table. Then at night I started drawing flowers and other items in my own sketch books.
I soon realized that with my love for the Bible I could combine verses with my drawings. My goal is to encourage people to grow in their faith and follow the wise teachings from the Bible. I enjoy creating inspiring Scripture art!
